CM announce Residence Allowance for forest personnel posted in remote areas

DEHRADUN, 11 Oct: In a major decision aimed at the welfare of Forest Department personnel, the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the provision of a Residential Allowance for staff posted in remote regions of Uttarakhand. The move reflects the Government’s continued commitment to ensuring the well-being of its employees, especially those serving in challenging conditions.

Announcing the decision, the Chief Minister observed that the forest personnel work tirelessly, day and night, in adverse environments to safeguard the State’s precious forest wealth and wildlife. During their postings in remote and inaccessible outposts, many have to remain separated from their families, making it difficult to arrange suitable accommodation for them. Recognising this hardship, the Government has decided to sanction a Residential Allowance for forest personnel stationed in such areas where basic amenities like healthcare and education are lacking.

Dhami also observed that this decision would provide much-needed relief to those constantly engaged in forest protection. The administration, in coordination with the Finance Department, will soon identify the remote areas where this facility will be implemented.

The employees of the Forest Department expressed their gratitude to CM Dhami and Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal for this welfare-oriented decision. They said that the allowance would ease their difficulties in managing family needs and motivate them to work with renewed dedication towards the conservation of the State’s forest resources.
