CM Dhami Announces Renaming of 15 Places Across Four Districts in Uttarakhand

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has announced the renaming of 15 places in the districts of Haridwar, Dehradun, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar. The decision aims to honor Indian culture and heritage, aligning with public sentiment.

According to the Chief Minister, the renaming reflects a commitment to preserving cultural values and drawing inspiration from historical figures. The changes include:

  • Haridwar District: Aurangzebpur will be renamed Shivaji Nagar, Gajiwali to Arya Nagar, Chandpur to Jyotiba Phule Nagar, Mohammadpur Jat to Mohanpur Jat, Khanpur Kursali to Ambedkar Nagar, Indrishpur to Nandpur, Khanpur to Shri Krishnapur, and Akbarpur Fazalpur to Vijaynagar.
  • Dehradun District: Mianwala will be renamed Ramji Wala, Pirwala to Kesari Nagar, Chandpur Khurd to Prithviraj Nagar, and Abdullah Nagar to Daksh Nagar.
  • Nainital District: Nawabi Road will be renamed Atal Marg, and Panchakki to ITI Road will be called Guru Golwalkar Marg.
  • Udham Singh Nagar District: Sultanpur Patti will be renamed Kaushalya Puri.

CM Dhami emphasized that these changes are intended to strengthen the cultural identity of the regions. The state government is taking necessary steps to implement the changes effectively.
