CM Dhami Flags Off 20 New AC Mini Buses for Dehradun-Mussoorie and Haldwani-Nainital Routes

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami flagged off 20 new air-conditioned UTC mini buses (Tempo Travellers) on Monday to strengthen transport connectivity in the state. Ten of these vehicles will operate on the Dehradun-Mussoorie route, while the remaining ten will serve the Haldwani-Nainital corridor. This move is expected to ease traffic congestion on both popular tourist routes.

The Chief Minister travelled from his camp office to the GTC Helipad in one of the new vehicles and stated that if the initiative proves successful, more such services will be introduced. He emphasized that these AC mini buses will offer safe, comfortable, and affordable travel options, helping boost both the state’s economy and tourism.

The Transport Corporation has reportedly been running in profit for the past three years. The government aims to connect every region in Uttarakhand with a strong road network and reliable transport services. With digital ticketing, online booking, and tracking systems now available, citizens have greater access to convenient travel.

CM Dhami also revealed that electric buses will soon be added to the UTC fleet. The procurement process is already underway. He highlighted the government’s commitment to employee welfare by citing measures like DA hikes, implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, and increased recruitment in the corporation.
