Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a new outlet of the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand at the Uttarakhand Niwas complex in New Delhi on Tuesday. The initiative aims to give global recognition to products from the state’s mountainous regions.
Speaking at the event, CM Dhami said the state government is committed to promoting local products by creating strong marketing platforms. To support this vision, retail carts and attractive floor-standing units have been set up at over 13 key locations along the Char Dham yatra route, including Kedarnath, Badrinath, Guptkashi, Harshil, Pantnagar, Dehradun airport, and Masoorie, among others.
Uttarakhand Rural Development Secretary Radhika Jha highlighted that the ‘House of Himalayas’ brand has earned a special reputation for its quality. The brand’s products are also available on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Blinkit.
To further reach global and domestic tourists, retail carts are being placed in prominent hotel chains such as Taj, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Regency, Marriott, Westin, and Jaypee Group. The event was also attended by Uttarakhand’s Resident Commissioner Ajay Mishra and other senior officials.
