Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Bhagirath Mobile App and released a brochure under the Water Conservation Campaign 2025 at the Chief Sevak Sadan in the CM residence. The campaign is themed “Dhara Mera, Naula Mera, Gaon Mera, Prayas Mera.” The app allows people to report critical and dried water sources, enabling the government to take restoration measures.
CM Dhami highlighted the establishment of the Spring and River Rejuvenation Authority (SARA) to protect and restore springs, streams, and rain-fed rivers. Over 6,500 water sources have been treated, resulting in the storage of approximately 3.12 million cubic meters of rainwater. Collaborative efforts with the Central Ground Water Board are also underway to recharge groundwater.
Furthermore, detailed reports for the restoration of Nayar, Song, Uttarvahini Shipra, and Gaudi rivers are being prepared with the technical support of IIT Roorkee and NIH Roorkee.
Agriculture Minister Ganesh Joshi emphasized the app’s role in encouraging public participation. Residents can report critical water sources through the Bhagirath App, allowing timely interventions.
Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan stated that the Water Conservation Campaign 2025 is not just an initiative but a collaborative effort. Village-level committees will ensure active participation, with workshops planned to build the capacity of gram panchayats.
