CM Dhami directs officials to ensure smooth Char Dham Yatra, focus on disaster management

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a meeting at his residence with senior administrative and police officials, along with all district magistrates connected virtually. He stressed that the government’s top priority is to provide immediate relief, safety, and facilities to the public during the upcoming Char Dham Yatra. Dhami directed officials to strengthen disaster management, maintain law and order, speed up reconstruction works, and ensure better public services.

The CM instructed that sufficient relief materials and dry rations be stocked before the monsoon season. Arrangements for shelter, food, and essential facilities for disaster-affected people must be ensured. Authorities were asked to assess damage to crops, water pipelines, and government property promptly and report to the state. He emphasized strict enforcement of the ban on construction near rivers and nullahs, warning of accountability and strict action against officers who fail to comply.

District magistrates were also directed to provide quick assistance funds to affected families and conduct regular inspections of hospitals. Preventive measures against dengue, malaria, and other waterborne diseases should be ensured. The CM ordered intensified checks in border areas, strict action against unauthorized IDs and suspicious activities, and effective steps for cattle protection.

On Char Dham Yatra, Dhami said the pilgrimage should be conducted smoothly with caution post-monsoon, and devotees must receive timely weather updates. District magistrates were asked to submit reports on CM announcements and ongoing projects every 15 days and to organize village-level programs, public hearings, and health camps regularly.

Dhami also called for detailed preparations for the “Seva Pakhwada” from September 17 to October 2, focusing on service, cleanliness, and public welfare. Weekly cleanliness drives should involve district magistrates personally, while damaged roads must be repaired and made pothole-free. He further directed that actions under the CM Helpline 1905 and Anti-Corruption Campaign 1064 continue actively, and disaster volunteers and district-level mock drills be organized to tackle emergencies effectively.
