Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting on Monday at the CM residence, issuing strict directives aimed at strengthening disaster management and public safety in the state. He instructed officials to promptly identify locations in the hilly regions that are vulnerable to landslides, avalanches, and other natural calamities, ensuring preventive measures are taken well in advance.

The Chief Minister made it clear that no new settlements or construction projects will be permitted in these identified sensitive zones. He further ordered a complete ban on both government and private construction along natural water sources, rivers, and streams. All district magistrates will receive formal guidelines on these restrictions, with regular monitoring to ensure compliance.

CM Dhami warned that strict disciplinary action would be taken against any officials who violate these directives. He emphasized that disaster prevention must be a priority and that robust, effective measures should be implemented in vulnerable areas with the public’s safety in mind.
