Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired a high-level meeting on Friday and directed officials to conduct a comprehensive safety audit of all school buildings across the state. He emphasized that no students should be made to sit in dilapidated or unsafe school structures under any circumstances. The CM warned that any negligence regarding student safety would not be tolerated.
He instructed that schools requiring repairs should be addressed immediately, while those needing reconstruction should be covered under a clear action plan and executed promptly. Additionally, he ordered a safety audit of all bridges in the state, with special attention to timely repairs or reconstruction of deteriorating bridges to prevent any loss of life.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of developing sites like Triyuginarayan and others as wedding destinations. He urged that these projects be expedited to boost tourism and generate local employment. He stressed maintaining cultural integrity and quality in these developments and advised studying wedding destination policies from other states to frame an attractive and effective policy for Uttarakhand.
Furthermore, CM Dhami directed swift action towards establishing two Spiritual Economic Zones in the state. He said these zones would strengthen religious, cultural, and spiritual tourism while also boosting economic activities.
