With rising temperatures across Uttarakhand, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the activation of control rooms in all districts to address the escalating drinking water crisis. These control rooms will allow residents to register complaints related to water supply, which will be resolved promptly.
According to Water Supply Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, the functioning of these control rooms is being regularly monitored. The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation has implemented district-wise action plans, with executive engineers assigned the responsibility for local-level monitoring and resolution.
In addition to district control rooms, state-level toll-free helpline numbers 18001804100 and 1916 remain active for public use. Citizens can call these numbers to lodge complaints regarding water issues.
The government’s aim is to ensure that the public does not face prolonged water scarcity during the summer and receives timely assistance.
