CM Dhami promotes ‘Swadeshi Apnao’ campaign, spreads awareness on new GST rates

Dehradun: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Kunawala market in Dehradun on Wednesday as part of a public awareness drive to promote the “Swadeshi Apnao” campaign and explain the newly revised GST rates. During the market tour, he interacted with shopkeepers and local residents, highlighting the benefits of using indigenous products and clarifying recent tax changes.

The Chief Minister said adopting swadeshi goods is a vital step toward building a self-reliant India while also creating opportunities for local artisans, small industries, and youth. He urged citizens to increase the use of domestic products in their daily lives and reduce dependence on foreign goods.

Speaking about the revised GST rates, CM Dhami noted that the changes are intended to simplify trade and ease public convenience. He emphasized that a transparent and simplified tax system will strengthen the state’s economy. He added that the success of the “Swadeshi Apnao” campaign depends on mass awareness and active public participation, which would further improve Uttarakhand’s financial position.

MLA Brijbhushan Gairola was also present during the program.
