CM Dhami Visits Disaster-Hit Dharali, Oversees Rescue Efforts

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami continued his on-ground presence for the second consecutive day in the disaster-affected areas of Dharali and Sainji. He met with affected families, consoled them, and assured them of all possible assistance from the government. The Chief Minister stated that rescue operations will continue until every stranded individual is safely evacuated. Throughout the day, he closely monitored the progress of relief and rescue efforts and remained in constant touch with officials for real-time updates. While visiting the landslide site in Dharali, he reassured victims of their safety and the government’s commitment to their recovery.

Multiple teams from the police, SDRF, NDRF, ITBP, Army, Fire Services, and the Revenue Department are actively engaged in ongoing rescue and relief operations at the site. Helicopter evacuations by ITBP from the affected zone to Matli have been ongoing since morning. By 9 AM today, 55 individuals had been airlifted to ITBP Matli.

Rescue operations in Dharali, located in Uttarkashi district, have significantly intensified. Four helicopters from UCADA took off from Matli towards Harsil this morning, while eight helicopters—including Chinook and MI-17—are engaged in the massive rescue efforts. On Thursday, a Chinook helicopter from the Indian Air Force delivered heavy machinery to Harsil to support the rescue mission. Additionally, a total of 657 stranded individuals have been safely evacuated by helicopter from Harsil, Nelang, and Matli to secure locations.
