After the consumption of contaminated kuttu flour during Navratri fasts, over 100 people have fallen ill, with several in critical condition. The administration has launched a massive crackdown, sealing multiple shops and warehouses in Saharanpur and Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the hospital to meet the patients and directed strict action against those responsible.
Source of Contaminated Flour Identified
Investigations revealed that the contaminated flour was supplied by a trader from Saharanpur and distributed in Dehradun through a business in Vikasnagar. The primary warehouse, located in Mehuwala, has been sealed. Police have detained the owner of Laxmi Trading, Sheeshpal Singh Chauhan, for questioning. Further investigations revealed that the flour was processed at Vikas Goyal’s mill in Saharanpur, which sourced it from Govind Sahay Shankar Lal Firm.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ajay Singh confirmed that cases have been filed against the supplier, the mill owner, and the Vikasnagar trader. Police are also coordinating with Saharanpur authorities to investigate further.
Shops and Warehouses Sealed
Authorities sealed the primary warehouse in Mehuwala and destroyed all contaminated flour. Additionally, flour from 30 shops across the city has been seized and destroyed in the presence of administrative officials.
