Seven new COVID-19 cases, including three pilgrims who recently returned from Char Dham and Vaishno Devi, have been reported in Uttarakhand. This has raised the total active cases in the state to 30, with seven currently in home isolation.
Friday marked the highest single-day spike of the season, prompting the state health department to take notice. Among the new cases, one patient from Raipur, Dehradun, had returned from Badrinath, another from Sahaspur had recently visited Kedarnath, and a third from Chakrata Road fell ill after returning from Vaishno Devi on May 25.
All three showed symptoms and underwent RT-PCR testing, which confirmed infection. Four other individuals have also tested positive, though their travel history remains unspecified.
Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar stated that most of the 30 reported cases have already recovered, and only seven remain active. So far, none of the active patients have exhibited severe symptoms. The public is urged to remain cautious as the virus shows signs of resurgence.
