Tragic Accident Near Devprayag: Army Truck Overturns, Soldier Dies

A major accident took place in Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district on Wednesday when a CRPF bus carrying personnel of the 187th battalion fell into a deep gorge near the Basantgarh area. The incident occurred around 10:30 AM near Kandwa, where the vehicle plunged nearly 200 feet down a slope.

According to officials, the bus was en route from Kandwa to Basantgarh when it lost control and crashed. The tragic accident resulted in the martyrdom of three CRPF jawans, while 15 others sustained injuries. A total of 18 personnel were reportedly on board at the time of the mishap.

Rescue operations were swiftly initiated, and the injured were rushed to nearby medical facilities. The condition of some personnel remains critical. Senior officials from CRPF and local administration are closely monitoring the situation.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident, and further details are awaited.
