The Special Task Force (STF) and district police have uncovered a fake international call center operating in Dehradun’s Patel Nagar area. In the raid, 11 men and two women were arrested for impersonating representatives of Microsoft and Apple to scam citizens of the United States and Canada.
According to STF SSP Navneet Singh Bhullar, police acted on a tip-off and raided an office in Chaman Vihar operating under the name “I Create Solutions (ICS).” There, 13 individuals were found interacting with foreign nationals via laptops. Investigations revealed that the call center had been running for months, exclusively targeting overseas victims.
The accused used the “X Lite Dialer” app to contact U.S. and Canadian citizens. They then tricked victims into downloading remote access software like “AnyDesk” and “TeamViewer” before sending pop-up messages falsely claiming that their systems had been compromised or that they had accessed inappropriate websites. Fearful of legal consequences, victims were coerced into paying amounts ranging from $40 to $70 to “fix” the issue. The scam is estimated to have defrauded victims of millions of rupees.

Among those arrested are Saurabh Vashisht from Kashipur, Deepak Bhatt from Lalkuan, Mukesh Mittal from Rajpur, Gurupreet Singh Panwar from Sanjay Colony, Vishal Thapa from Rajendra Nagar, Shubham Semwal from Kargi Chowk, Sunil Gurung from Kanwali Road, Abhishek Verma from MDDA Colony, Photokho from Arcadia Grant, Rajiv Kumar Bhatti from Hoshiarpur (Punjab), and Mudassir from Sahastradhara Road.
The mastermind, Saurabh Vashisht, previously ran a travel agency in Transport Nagar. A few years ago, he moved to Delhi, where he worked at a call center and learned fraudulent techniques. He later recruited individuals with call center experience in Dehradun, setting up the fraudulent operation within just two months.
