Dehradun, 15 November 2024. District Magistrate Savin Bansal conducted a review meeting after inspecting the city with senior police and departmental officers, emphasizing the improvement of Dehradun’s drainage, traffic, and essential public facilities. During the meeting, he issued strict instructions to National Highway (NH) officials and expressed dissatisfaction over delays in road widening and drainage work near ISBT.
The DM instructed NH officials to prepare a land acquisition proposal within a week for widening and drainage system improvements at ISBT. He warned that delays in public welfare issues and road safety concerns would not be tolerated, urging the presentation of proposals within a week. Additionally, he ordered temporary drainage solutions for monsoon-prone areas, with a detailed proposal required within 15 days, and warned of strict action for non-compliance.

For enhanced women’s facilities, five pink toilets will be established in the city. The DM also requested proposals for new traffic lights, repair of old lights, and the construction of additional junctions and drainage systems. He assured officials that lack of funds would not be a barrier to improving the city’s infrastructure.
The meeting included senior municipal and police officials, along with representatives from various departments responsible for implementing these essential improvements.
