Dehradun Administration Begins Kabul House Parking Project to Ease Traffic Congestion

Dehradun, December 10, 2024: In a bid to ease traffic congestion and improve vehicular flow, the Dehradun district administration has initiated the construction of a parking facility at Kabul House. With a budget of ₹99.35 lakh, the project aims to accommodate up to 285 vehicles upon completion.

The parking construction project at Kabul House, launched under the supervision of District Magistrate Savin Bansal, is progressing rapidly. The facility will address the city’s chronic parking shortage and reduce traffic jams in key commercial areas. The district administration is also exploring additional parking sites across the city.

DM Savin Bansal has directed officials to expedite the construction process. He is personally monitoring the progress through regular field visits. Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sadar and officials from relevant departments are conducting on-site inspections to ensure timely completion and effective execution.

The administration’s proactive approach aims to deliver long-term solutions to Dehradun’s traffic and parking woes by creating dedicated parking spaces and minimizing roadside vehicle congestion.
