Travel between Dehradun and Kathgodam is set to become more comfortable, as the Dehradun-Kathgodam Jan Shatabdi Express (12092/12091) will be upgraded with LHB (Linke Hofmann Busch) coaches from August 16. The conventional coaches will be replaced with modern LHB coaches, known for enhanced safety and ride quality.

The revamped train will include 15 coaches: one generator-cum-luggage van, one LSLRD coach, ten second-class chair cars, and three AC chair cars. LHB coaches can run at speeds up to 160 km/h and come with anti-climbing features that reduce the risk of coaches piling up in case of a collision, thereby increasing passenger safety.

These coaches also have greater capacity, improved suspension systems, reduced noise levels, bio-toilets, and better ventilation, offering a quieter and more relaxing journey. Railway officials confirmed the upgrade is part of efforts to enhance passenger comfort.

Train 12092 departs from Kathgodam at 5:25 AM and reaches Dehradun at 12:40 PM. Its return service, Train 12091, leaves Dehradun at 4:15 PM and arrives at Kathgodam at 11:50 PM. The service runs five days a week, except Thursdays and Sundays, and operates from Haldwani station on the remaining two days.
