MDDA Cracks Down on Illegal Constructions, Demolishes Unauthorized Plotting

The Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) intensified its drive against illegal plotting and unauthorized constructions in and around Dehradun on Saturday. The joint enforcement team demolished dozens of bighas of illegal plotting and sealed multiple commercial structures built in violation of rules.

MDDA Vice Chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said that unregulated expansion of the city will not be allowed and strict action will continue against those engaged in illegal plotting and constructions. He also urged people not to invest in unauthorized colonies, warning that such investments could put their money and future at risk.

During the operation, around 40 bighas of illegal plotting by Manvendra Pundir in Hindu Wala Sabhawala along Shimla Bypass Road were demolished. Another 10 bighas of unauthorized plotting by Gul Sher between the highway and Aasan river were also razed. Similarly, 20 bighas of illegal plotting by D.C. Bansal in Shankarpur Selakui, and eight bighas by Rashid in Kalyanpur Dharmawala were demolished.

In addition, MDDA sealed an illegally constructed farmhouse and eight commercial huts belonging to Narendra Chauhan in Addowala, Shimla Bypass. Unauthorized commercial structures near Herbertpur petrol pump (by Rakesh Agarwal), in Khushhalpur Sahaspur (by Salman), on Rajpur Road (by Sardar Mohd. Asraf Khan), and two buildings in Sanskriti Lok Colony (by Sakir) were also sealed. Temporary tin-shed structures by Mohd. Sajish in Chanchak Chowk, Banjarawala, were demolished.

The action was carried out in the presence of MDDA Secretary Mohan Singh Bernia, Joint Secretary Gaurav Chatwal, Assistant Engineers Abhishek Bhardwaj, Surjit Singh Rawat, Nishant Kukreti, Junior Engineers Harshit Mauthani, Jaydeep Rana, Neha Barthwal, along with police personnel.
