Following the Indian Army’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ targeting terrorist bases in Pakistan, Dehradun Police has been placed on high alert. A large-scale verification campaign began early in the morning across urban and rural areas of the district to identify and question suspicious individuals.
Multiple police teams, in coordination with paramilitary forces, are verifying identities of outsiders. Several suspects have been brought to local police stations for interrogation. The heightened alert was ordered by SSP Dehradun in light of the recent counterterror operation.
On the 15th day after the Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Army conducted a midnight air strike, destroying nine terrorist hideouts in Pakistan under ‘Operation Sindoor’. The operation specifically targeted camps of Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Hizbul Mujahideen, and other terror outfits linked to Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed. Just before the strike, the Army posted on social media, “Ready to strike, eager to win,” followed later by, “Justice delivered. Jai Hind!”
The operation was conducted in retaliation to the Pahalgam attack, aiming to dismantle terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
