Police in Dehradun’s Patel Nagar area have arrested a man after his wife accused him of assault, harassment and giving her triple talaq. The woman also alleged that her husband was pressuring her to undergo halala with her brother-in-law.
According to police, the woman, a resident of the Patel Nagar area, submitted a written complaint at the police station on September 12. In her complaint, she alleged that her husband, identified as Farman, repeatedly assaulted and harassed her.
The woman also accused Farman of giving her triple talaq. She further alleged that he was pressuring her to undergo halala with her brother-in-law.
Based on the complaint, police registered a first information report against the accused and initiated action. Police subsequently arrested Farman in connection with the case.
The allegations regarding assault, triple talaq and pressure for halala are part of the complaint submitted by the woman. Police are taking further action based on the registered case.
