Delhi Assembly Elections: AAP and BJP Leaders in Talks with Congress

New Delhi: Ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, the Congress party has intensified its preparations and is in the process of finalizing candidates for the remaining 23 seats. Dissatisfied leaders from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are reportedly in contact with the Congress. Strategically, the party plans to offer tickets to these leaders to reshape the electoral dynamics.

47 Candidates Announced So Far

Congress has already released two lists featuring 47 candidates, including some former ministers and MLAs from AAP. The third list is expected to be released within three to four days, with an emphasis on women and leaders from rural backgrounds. This move aims to strengthen Congress’ appeal among female voters and rural constituencies.

Focus on Disgruntled AAP and BJP Leaders

According to sources, several dissatisfied leaders from AAP and BJP, including current legislators, are in touch with Congress. The party believes that by incorporating these leaders, it can not only bolster its own candidates but also penetrate opposition strongholds.

Delay in Third List

Congress is exercising caution in selecting its candidates this time, focusing on fielding those with a high chance of winning. The rigorous deliberation process is aimed at gaining an edge in the elections and presenting a formidable challenge in Delhi.
