A controversy has erupted in Uttarakhand over entry restrictions at Kedarnath Dham. BJP MLA from Kedarnath, Asha Nautiyal, has demanded a ban on the entry of non-Hindus into the sacred shrine, citing concerns over religious sanctity. She alleged that reports of meat and alcohol sales along the Kedarnath route have surfaced, with non-Hindus allegedly involved in such activities, which she claims disrespect the religious significance of the shrine.

Nautiyal emphasized the need to uphold the holiness of Kedarnath, a revered pilgrimage site for millions of Hindus. She announced plans to discuss the matter with the government and push for strict measures against those violating the sanctity of the shrine.

During a recent meeting with businesses and residents along the Kedarnath route, state minister Saurabh Bahuguna received complaints about the sale of meat and alcohol. Many locals expressed their discontent and demanded restrictions on non-Hindus entering the temple premises, arguing that it would preserve the faith of devotees.
