The absence of rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand is now directly affecting temperatures, with dry cold intensifying across the state. In hilly regions, cold waves and frost are troubling residents, while dense fog in the plains is creating difficulties in daily life.
According to the Meteorological Centre’s forecast, a yellow alert for dense fog has been issued for the plains districts of Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar and Haridwar, along with Nainital, Champawat and Pauri. Fog conditions are expected to persist, affecting visibility, especially during morning and night hours. Although sunshine during the day is providing slight relief in mountainous areas, the dry cold is likely to continue.
Weather conditions across the state are expected to remain dry, with no possibility of rain or snowfall till January 14. Due to clear skies during the day and the absence of cloud cover at night, temperature fluctuations are being recorded in several regions.
