Devotion Peaks as 80.90 Lakh Pilgrims Visit Haridwar in Just Five Days

The Kanwar Mela has reached its peak within the first week of the holy month of Shravan, with an overwhelming influx of devotees flooding Haridwar, highways, and the Ganga canal routes. As per official figures, 80.90 lakh Kanwar pilgrims have already collected Gangajal and begun their return journeys within just five days.

Although the Kanwar Mela officially began on July 11, the arrival of Shiv devotees had started earlier. Counting of pilgrims by the police administration began on July 10, and by Tuesday evening (6 PM), a total of 80,90,000 devotees had departed with Gangajal.

Notably, between Monday 6 PM and Tuesday 6 PM alone, over 31 lakh pilgrims collected water from Har Ki Pauri and other Ganga ghats in Haridwar. The massive crowd reflects the unmatched devotion and scale of the pilgrimage.

Despite the surge, the police and local administration remain fully alert, working round the clock to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the yatra amid such unprecedented footfall.
