Dhami offers prayers at Kedarnath, reviews development works

Kedarnath, 23 Oct: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was today witness to the rituals for closure of the portals of Kedarnath Temple for the winter season. Kedarnath is one of the most revered centres of Sanatan faith and its portals were formally closed for the winter season today with full religious rituals on the occasion of Bhai Dooj. CM Dhami reached Kedarnath Dham on this significant occasion and offered special prayers, seeking happiness, prosperity, and well-being for the people of Uttarakhand.

Later, the CM also reviewed the ongoing development works in and around the shrine and interacted with temple priests, custodians, and pilgrims present at the site.

Speaking to the gathering on the occasion, Dhami noted that this year witnessed a record-breaking influx of devotees to Baba Kedar dham. He credited the smooth and successful conduct of the Char Dham Yatra to the state government’s meticulous planning and coordinated efforts. Emphasising on the spiritual and economic importance of the pilgrimage, he remarked that the Char Dham Yatra not only strengthens Uttarakhand’s economy but also reinforces the state’s identity as Devbhoomi among Sanatan dharma followers across the globe.

During his visit, Dhami also conducted an on-site inspection of the various development projects underway in the Kedarnath region. He stressed that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, extensive infrastructure and spiritual rejuvenation works are being carried out not only in the Char Dham circuit but also in temples associated with the Manaskhand region. He directed the officials to begin preparations for the 2026 yatra without any delay, ensuring that all arrangements are completed well in advance to facilitate a seamless pilgrimage experience next Yatra season.

Dhami also expressed gratitude to the temple priests, custodians, local traders, and the pilgrims for their cooperation in ensuring the safe and successful completion of this year’s yatra. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to developing Uttarakhand as the spiritual capital of Sanatan Dharma under the guidance of the Prime Minister. He reminded that a record number of pilgrims visited the Char Dham Yatra this year. The Yatra to Lord Kedar’s dham has now concluded safely. He also wished for Baba Kedar’s blessings be upon everyone in the state.
