Dehradun District Magistrate Savin Bansal turned farmer for a day as he visited the paddy fields of Arkadia Grant village in Dehradun tehsil early in the morning. During the crop cutting experiment inspection, DM Bansal picked up a sickle and joined local farmers in harvesting paddy.
As per official data, a yield of 17.5 kilograms of paddy was recorded from a 43.30 square meter plot. The crop cutting experiment was conducted by the Revenue Sub-Inspector using the GCES and CCE Agri mobile applications. The yield data was uploaded directly to the Government of India’s portal from the field.

Officials stated that this data will be used for calculating the average crop yield and for implementation under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
