District Magistrate Savin Bansal is actively translating Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s vision into reality by ensuring accessible and efficient services for the people of Dehradun. Under his leadership, significant strides are being made in preserving the city’s ancient heritage and enhancing urban infrastructure.
To support beautification and new development works, ₹10 crore has been allocated from the Smart City budget. As part of a major initiative to improve road safety and traffic management, installation of traffic lights has begun at 11 key junctions in the city. Work is already underway at Maharana Pratap Chowk, Nalapani Chowk, Mothrowala, IT Park, and Transport Nagar. Soon, lights will also be installed at Premnagar Chowk, Sudhowala Chowk, Rangadwala, Dhulkot Tiraha, Selakui Bazar Tiraha, and Dakpathar Tiraha.
In a first for the city in five years, CCTV cameras at major intersections have also been integrated for live traffic monitoring. This move aims to strengthen road safety and ensure smoother vehicular flow.
District Magistrate Bansal is known for understanding public concerns and delivering results with sincerity. Thanks to his dedication, several projects are being implemented efficiently, offering timely relief to residents. On his initiative, beautification in traditional hill-style architecture has commenced at key city junctions like Sai Mandir Junction, Kuthal Gate, and Dilaram Chowk.
These sites are being adorned with artworks reflecting Uttarakhand’s cultural identity, including depictions of folk traditions, religious symbols, and historical elements. Memorials and art installations honoring statehood activists are also being placed across major roads and intersections. The effort not only enhances the city’s appeal but also provides visitors with a glimpse into Uttarakhand’s rich cultural legacy.
