An earthquake struck Uttarkashi late at night, causing panic among residents. The tremors were felt at around 1:40 AM, prompting people to rush out of their homes in fear.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the earthquake measured 2.5 on the Richter scale, with its epicenter near Jaspur village, close to the district headquarters. The quake originated 5 km beneath the surface. Fortunately, no damage or casualties have been reported, and the situation remains normal in the district.
