Dehradun – A violent clash between two groups late at night raised serious questions over security at the emergency ward of Doon Medical College Hospital. The situation worsened when youths involved in the fight misbehaved with hospital staff who tried to intervene, forcing doctors to shut down emergency services for a period.
According to information, two groups of youths clashed in the Paltan Bazaar area, leaving several people injured. One group brought the injured to the emergency ward of Doon Hospital. Soon after, members of the rival group also reached the hospital, leading to another round of fighting inside the emergency area.
Doctors and staff on duty tried to stop the clash, but the youths allegedly abused and misbehaved with them. Angered by the incident and concerned about safety, doctors closed the emergency gate. Ambulances were reportedly stopped outside, and the disturbance continued for several hours.

Police reached the spot and began an inquiry, while efforts were made to persuade doctors to resume emergency services. The incident once again highlighted weak security arrangements at the hospital, putting patients and medical staff at risk.
