A tragic fire broke out in a cowshed in Sari village, Bhatiwari block of Uttarkashi district, resulting in the death of five cattle. The fire is believed to have been caused by an open flame lit for warmth during the cold weather.
Cattle Could Not Be Saved
According to local residents, two oxen, two cows, and a calf were tied inside the cowshed at the time of the incident. The fire spread rapidly, leaving no time to rescue the animals. Villagers tried to douse the flames upon receiving the news, but the cattle had already perished.
Administration Begins Investigation
The revenue department team reached the spot and has begun assessing the damage. The process to provide compensation to the affected family is underway.
