Tension gripped Dehradun’s Premnagar area on Sunday morning after two bike-borne youths opened fire outside Gangotri Boys Hostel. The incident occurred near Nanda Chowki following a dispute between students. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Premnagar SHO Kundan Ram said the clash involved students of Uttaranchal University. Around 3 a.m., two youths fired two rounds in the air outside the hostel where the rival students reside. Police have identified the attackers, recorded statements from the complainants, and are registering a case.
Authorities noted that similar firing incidents have occurred earlier between Nanda Chowki and Vidholi Petroleum University, raising concerns about law and order in the area.
