Starting from the upcoming academic session, undergraduate programs such as BA, BCA, and B.Com offered by universities and affiliated institutions will undergo major structural changes in line with the National Education Policy (NEP). The traditional three-year degree programs will now extend to four years, offering students more in-depth academic exposure and specialized training opportunities.

Under the revised format, students completing one year will receive a certificate, a diploma after two years, a degree after three years, and an honors or honors with research degree after four years. Additionally, students opting for a fifth year will be eligible to earn a postgraduate degree directly.

Vice-Chancellor of Sri Dev Suman University, Prof. N.K. Joshi, confirmed that this change will be implemented from the next academic session. In the fourth year, students will have the option to pursue honors with research in fields like BCA, BA, and B.Com.

The curriculum will also include industry-relevant training and electives focusing on high-demand sectors such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning, Data Science, Data Analytics, Visualization, Big Data, Business Intelligence, Data Security, Natural Language Processing (NLP), Deep Learning for Computer Vision, and Speech Recognition.

To enhance real-world experience, summer internships will be mandatory for all students. The new framework aims to align academic learning with global trends and emerging technologies, thereby improving employability and research capabilities.
