Preparations are in full swing for a memorable closing ceremony of the 38th National Games. In recognition of Uttarakhand athletes’ outstanding performances, winners will receive special honors. A games recap will showcase key moments from the event. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be the chief guest.
The event will take place at Indira Gandhi International Sports Complex, Gaulapar, Haldwani. Bollywood singer Sukhwinder Singh, Kumaoni actress Shweta Mahara, and Digari Group will deliver special performances. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha, and Sports Minister Rekha Arya will also be present.
Over 5,000 Attendees Expected
Sports Minister Rekha Arya stated that public participation remained high throughout the games, and a large crowd is expected for the closing ceremony. Seating arrangements for over 15,000 people have been made. Shweta Mahara and Digari Group will perform before the formal closing ceremony, followed by Sukhwinder Singh’s performance.
Flag Handover to Next Host State
During the ceremony, the National Games flag will be handed over to the next host state, though the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has yet to make an official announcement. Uttarakhand had received the flag from Goa, the previous host.
