Grand Welcome for National Games Torch ‘Tejaswini’ in Gopeshwar

The torch of the 38th National Games, ‘Tejaswini’, received a grand reception at the district headquarters in Gopeshwar. District Magistrate Sandeep Tiwari, SP Sarvesh Panwar, and Arjuna Award winner Surendra Singh Kanwasi, along with other officials and sports enthusiasts, welcomed the torch with great enthusiasm. The event, held at the Police Grounds, saw the torch being brought to the venue through a rally accompanied by the tunes of the ITBP band.

The celebration reached its peak with cultural performances, including the theme song ‘Halla Dhoom Dhadaka’ by the Pandavaas Group, which left both the youth and elderly dancing with joy. Women from the Bhotiya tribe presented the traditional Pawna dance, while the Akshat Natya Sanstha added vibrancy to the event with their cultural acts.

On this occasion, Beijing Olympic bronze medalist Surendra Singh Kanwasi, Volleyball Association President Ashok Rawat, and other sports enthusiasts were honored. The torch and mascot ‘Mouli’ became the center of attention, with youths lining up for selfies, showcasing the spirit of the games.
