A deadly road accident occurred on the Haridwar–Laksar route, where a speeding car collided head-on with an e-rickshaw, killing three people on the spot and leaving four others critically injured. The incident took place in the Ferupur area, causing panic among commuters and local residents.
According to eyewitnesses, the impact was so severe that the e-rickshaw was completely damaged. Locals rushed to the spot, pulled out the injured passengers, and informed the police. Traffic on the busy route was disrupted for some time following the collision.
Police reached the scene and, with the help of locals, shifted the injured to a nearby hospital by ambulance. Doctors have described the condition of the injured as serious. The deceased have been identified as residents of Ferupur, Kaliyar, and Laksar areas. Their bodies were sent to the mortuary for post-mortem.
Station House Officer Manoj Nautiyal said that preliminary investigation points to overspeeding as the main cause of the accident. Further inquiry is underway to determine responsibility.
