Haridwar Traffic Plan Released for Somvati Amavasya Snan

Haridwar Police has issued a special traffic plan for the Somvati Amavasya Snan scheduled for Monday. From Sunday midnight, heavy vehicles will be prohibited from entering the city. Senior Superintendent of Police Pramendra Singh Doval has directed strict adherence to the traffic plan.

SP City Pankaj Gairola announced that Chandi Chowk, Valmiki Chowk, Shiv Murti Chowk, and the Har Ki Pauri area have been declared zero zones. This arrangement will remain in effect until the conclusion of the bathing festival.

Traffic Diversion Routes:

  • Vehicles from Dehradun and Rishikesh: Will be routed through Nepali Farm, Raiwala, and Dudhadari Tiraha to reach Motichur parking.
  • Alternate Route: Nepali Farm, Shyampur, IDPL, Rishikesh Barrage, and Chilamarg to Bhimgoda Barrage, reaching VIP Ghat.
  • Light Vehicles and Buses from Najibabad to Dehradun: Will pass through Gauri Shankar, Hanuman Chowk, Dakshin Kali Tiraha, and Bhimgoda Barrage, exiting via Chandi Chowk underpass to Dehradun.
  • Buses and Tractor Trolleys from Delhi: Will be parked at Rishikul Ground and Hariram Inter College.

The police have urged devotees and residents to follow the traffic plan and utilize designated parking areas for the bathing festival.
