Pithoragarh: Heavy rainfall during the night triggered debris flow on the Satshiling-Thal road near Beesa Bazer area in Pithoragarh district, disrupting traffic movement and causing inconvenience to commuters. The road was completely covered with mud and debris after the rainfall, leading to several small vehicles getting stuck on the route. Local residents said the stranded vehicles were removed with difficulty.
Traffic movement remained affected till late evening as the debris had not been cleared from the road. School children also faced problems while travelling due to the accumulation of mud on the road. Two-wheeler riders had to cross the affected stretch with extreme caution.

Residents of the area said debris frequently falls on this stretch during rainfall and warned that the problem could worsen during the monsoon season. They have demanded a permanent solution to prevent repeated disruptions on the road.
