The annual Hemkund Sahib Yatra is set to begin with the first jatha departing from Rishikesh on May 22 under the leadership of the Panj Pyare. The sacred shrine’s kapat (doors) will open for devotees on May 25. The jatha will depart from the Gurudwara located on Laxmanjhula Road.
Uttarakhand Governor Lieutenant General Gurmit Singh (Retd) and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will flag off the vehicles carrying pilgrims. The event will also be attended by members of the Sant Samaj and prominent figures from the city.
