Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, during his India visit, held a key meeting with National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval on Tuesday. Doval said that peace and harmony prevail along the border and expressed confidence in the success of the Special Representatives’ talks. He noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit China for the SCO Summit, making the discussions highly significant.
Doval highlighted that bilateral relations have strengthened under the guidance of leaders since their meeting in Kazan last October. He expressed hope that the 24th round of Special Representatives’ talks will be as successful as the previous one, helping both sides move forward in various areas of cooperation.
Wang Yi welcomed the dialogue in New Delhi, stating that the setbacks faced in recent years were not in the interest of either nation. He recalled the October meeting between President Xi Jinping and PM Modi in Kazan as a turning point that provided direction for resolving the border issue. Wang added that stability has now been restored along the border, and praised Doval’s efforts as India’s Special Representative. He stressed that the current environment offers an important opportunity to improve and develop bilateral ties further.
