External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis in New Delhi on Thursday to discuss strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, and connectivity. Both ministers emphasized the India-Middle East Economic Corridor (IMEC) and India-Mediterranean connectivity as key priorities. Jaishankar assured India’s support for Greece’s bid for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council (UNSC) for 2025-26.
The discussions also focused on artificial intelligence (AI) collaboration and cultural exchanges. Gerapetritis reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to expanding cooperation in tourism, trade, and cultural partnerships while also supporting India’s role in the United Nations and India-EU relations.
This visit holds special significance as India and Greece celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations.
