New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon arrived in India today, marking his first official visit since taking office. The visit, taking place at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will continue until March 20. Its primary objective is to strengthen the long-term ties between India and New Zealand while enhancing cooperation across various sectors.
PM Luxon is accompanied by a high-level delegation, including ministers, senior officials, business leaders, media representatives, and members of the Indian community in New Zealand. On March 17, he will engage in bilateral discussions with PM Modi, covering key aspects of India-New Zealand relations. A luncheon will also be hosted in his honor by PM Modi. On the same day, Luxon is scheduled to meet with President Droupadi Murmu.
Additionally, on March 17, PM Luxon will participate as the chief guest in the inaugural session of the 10th Raisina Dialogue in New Delhi, where he will deliver the keynote address. The platform will provide an opportunity to discuss regional and global security concerns while reinforcing cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
In the final leg of his visit, on March 19 and 20, PM Luxon will be in Mumbai, where he is set to meet leaders from India’s business sector and representatives from various industries. These interactions will focus on boosting economic collaboration between India and New Zealand.
