External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Indian students abroad, especially in conflict-prone regions. Addressing the Rajya Sabha, he stated, “The welfare of students is very close to the government’s heart.”
He emphasized that the government remains vigilant about students’ security overseas and is prepared to arrange special evacuation flights if necessary. Indian embassies and diplomats worldwide have been directed to prioritize student safety.
Given the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict and the Russia-Ukraine war, India continues to monitor the situation closely and stands ready to extend full support to affected students.
