India Slams Pakistan at UNHRC, Raises Terrorism and PoK Issues

At the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) session in Geneva, India strongly criticized Pakistan for misusing the global platform. Kshitij Tyagi, Adviser at India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, accused Pakistan of indulging in baseless propaganda against India, calling it “condemnable.”

Without directly naming Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Tyagi urged Islamabad to vacate all Indian territories under its illegal occupation. He further highlighted Pakistan’s fragile economic situation, remarking that a country whose economy is on “ventilator” should focus on its internal recovery instead of pointing fingers at others.

Tyagi also questioned Pakistan’s political system, stating that its governance remains under military control and its human rights record is abysmal. He asserted that Pakistan can only address these pressing issues once it stops backing terrorism and sheltering UN-designated terrorists.

Referring to recent incidents, Tyagi pointed out that Pakistan’s own airstrikes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which killed dozens of people, exposed its internal instability and disregard for human rights.

India’s statement exposed the gap between Pakistan’s rhetoric and its actions, underlining that a country sponsoring terrorism has no moral standing to lecture others on human rights.
