Chamoli- Tourists planning to visit the India-Tibet border areas in Chamoli can now apply for Inner Line Permits (ILP) online. The Chamoli district administration has launched a dedicated website to simplify the permit process, eliminating the need for offline applications. This initiative aims to provide a hassle-free experience for travelers visiting Mana Pass, Rimkhim Pass, and Niti Pass, known for their natural beauty and religious significance.
Border Travel Made Easier
Currently, visitors require administrative approval to enter the border areas, which could only be obtained through an offline application process. With the new system, travelers can apply for permits from home and receive real-time updates on weather conditions and road accessibility.
According to E-District Manager Jaiveer Singh, once an application is submitted online, the applicant will need to obtain clearance from the local police and health department before the final permit is issued.
Access to Key Locations
The online permit system will grant access to multiple strategic and scenic locations, including:
- Ghastoli, Rattakona, Jagaraun, Devtal, Mana Pass, Goting, Gyal Dung, Ganesh Ganga, Kyulang, Niti Pass, 16 Point, Upper Rimkhim, Lower Rimkhim, and Parvati Kund.
Tourists and pilgrims visiting these restricted border zones often face difficulties in obtaining permits. The introduction of the online system is expected to streamline the process and encourage more visitors to explore the region. The website is expected to go live soon, ensuring a smooth and efficient implementation of the new system.
