The United States stands firmly with India in its fight against terrorism, assured former US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau to an all-party Indian delegation led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor. The assurance came after the delegation briefed Landau on the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack and India’s response through ‘Operation Sindoor’.
The Indian delegation, after visiting several countries, concluded its diplomatic tour in the US on Friday. During the meeting, Indian representatives provided detailed accounts of the April 22 Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives, as well as India’s targeted counter-terrorism operation against infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
The meeting reaffirmed growing bilateral cooperation between the two democracies, especially on global security concerns like cross-border terrorism. Landau expressed strong support for India’s position and condemned terrorism in all forms.
