Indore Murder Case: Wife Sonam Masterminded Raja’s Murder

In a shocking twist in the murder case of Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi, police have revealed that his wife Sonam was the mastermind behind the killing. Sonam, along with her lover Raj and three others, has been arrested. Interrogation details reveal a disturbing premeditated plan to eliminate Raja shortly after their marriage.

Police sources confirmed that Sonam and Raj had been in a secret relationship for the past five months. Raj admitted to the affair, saying Sonam couldn’t marry him earlier due to her father’s heart condition. To meet her family’s expectations, Sonam agreed to marry Raja but had already plotted to kill him so she could eventually live with Raj. She told Raj, “Once I become a widow, my family will accept our marriage.”

Murder Conspiracy Hatched on 16 May

Raja and Sonam got married on 11 May, with both families celebrating the union. Sonam blended into her new family seamlessly, hiding any trace of her sinister plan. On 16 May, she and Raj met at a café on the Super Corridor and finalized the murder plan. Raj involved three of his friends—Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi—in the conspiracy.

That night, Sonam was briefed about the murder plan over a six-hour phone call. Before the act, Raj provided the accomplices with ₹50,000, a keypad phone, an Android phone, and a new SIM card—all of which were handed over to Sonam. Using this device, she stayed in touch with the accused even after traveling to Shillong.

The case has shocked the city, revealing how deeply the murder was preplanned under the facade of a happy marriage.
