Intra-University Competition held at Doon Varsity as part of State Foundation Day celebrations

Dehradun, 27 Oct: As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Uttarakhand State Foundation Day, an Intra-University Competition was organised today at Doon University under the aegis of the Department of Higher Education, Government of Uttarakhand. The objective of this programme was to encourage innovation, technical thinking, and a spirit of research among students.

A total of 11 teams and 21 participants took part in the event, showcasing their creativity and technical skills in various categories such as working models, poster presentations, start-up ideas, innovative products, and short videos.

While inspecting the exhibition, the Vice Chancellor of Doon University, Prof Surekha Dangwal, said that such competitions help in nurturing creativity, innovation, and the development of new ideas among students. She appreciated the models presented by all participants and congratulated the faculty members and students who actively contributed to the success of the event.

The competition was evaluated by Dr OP Khatri, Senior Principal Scientist, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun, and Savitri Negi, Scientist ‘F’, Defence Electronics Applications Laboratory, Defence Research and Development Organisation, Dehradun.

In the working model category, students including Mokshita Uniyal, Nikita Sajwan, Ameethi Thapa, Kavita Mishra, Krishna Bahuguna, Suhani Bhardwaj, Arushi Rawthan, Sejal Dimri, and Manisha Rangad gave excellent performances. In the poster and short video categories, Shivani Dangwal, Kritika Rawat, Bhumika Singh Rawat, and Yashvardhan Dobal made impressive presentations.

At the conclusion of the programme, the judges and guests appreciated the students’ innovative efforts and said that such events promote creativity, research, and technological innovation in higher education, while preparing students to face future scientific and industrial challenges.

The event was coordinated by Dr Himani Sharma and co-coordinated by Dr Charu Dwivedi. DSW Dr HC Purohit, Dr Achlesh Davery and several other faculty members of the university were also present.
