JP Nadda Inaugurates New Health Facilities at AIIMS Rishikesh, Highlights Benefits for Poor

Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda inaugurated several new health facilities at AIIMS Rishikesh on Tuesday, emphasizing that these services will greatly benefit the underprivileged. The newly launched facilities include the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), an Integrated Medicine Department under AYUSH, and a state-of-the-art pediatric centre.

Among the key inaugurations was the PACS machine in the Radiology Department. This digital imaging technology is used for the secure storage and transmission of medical images such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. Installed in the Trauma Centre, the PACS system ensures efficient management and sharing of diagnostic images across departments, enhancing the speed and accuracy of treatment.

In the AYUSH department, an Integrated Medicine unit has been introduced to combine traditional medicine systems with modern healthcare. This patient-centric approach will feature integrated OPD services, outreach programs, training for AYUSH professionals and clinicians, tele-AYUSH services, and a dedicated yoga hall. Officials stated that this initiative will help AIIMS Rishikesh lead in integrated healthcare delivery, combining clinical care, outreach, education, and research.
