Ahead of the annual Kainchi Dham Mela, the Nainital police have issued a special traffic plan for June 14 and 15 to manage the expected rush of devotees. SSP Nainital has urged the public to review the traffic plan before heading out, as specific routes and restrictions will be enforced.
On June 14, vehicular movement on the Bhawali-Kainchi Dham motor route will be restricted for all heavy vehicles from 6 AM to midnight. Two-wheelers headed toward Kainchi Dham will be stopped at several checkpoints including Kathgodam, Kaladhungi, Vikas Bhawan Bhowali, Dant Chauraha Nainital, and Masjid Tiraha Bhawali. However, Kumoan Motor Union and Roadways buses, along with vehicles carrying essential services like food and supplies, will be allowed as usual.
Parking and Access for Devotees on June 14
- Devotees coming from Haldwani-Kathgodam, Jeolikote, and No. 1 Mod towards Kainchi Dham or Nainital will be directed to park at Sanitorium Parking.
- Devotees coming from Bhowali and Bhimtal side will be directed to Vikas Bhawan Parking.
- Vehicles from Almora side will be parked at Khairna, and shuttle services will take devotees to the shrine.
Alternative Routes for General Traffic
- Small vehicles and taxis coming from Jeolikote side towards Almora, Jageshwar, and Bageshwar will be diverted via Masjid Tiraha Nainiband-2 to Nainiband-1, then via Khutani-Mukteshwar towards Kwarab.
- Vehicles from Bhimtal to Almora or Bageshwar will also use the Khutani-Mukteshwar-Kwarab route.
- Vehicles heading from Almora and adjoining regions towards Haldwani will be diverted at Kwarab via Nathuwakhan and Mukteshwar, proceeding through Khutani-Bhimtal to reach Haldwani.
The administration has requested all pilgrims and commuters to cooperate with the traffic control measures and plan their travel accordingly for a smooth and safe journey during the mela.
